Overview

Clinicians, social workers, and school-based mental health staff in this workshop will learn how to incorporate the voices and provide responses in a local and community context to build trust, with the goal of removing roadblocks to mental health and community resources that address social determinants of health and overall well-being.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify at least three factors that contribute to mistrust of mental health services among adolescents of less visible communities
  • Describe at least two strategies for incorporating adolescent voice and choice into mental health services and treatment
