Overview

Today’s marijuana is much more potent than in the past, with edibles, candies, cookies, ice creams, and waxes being up to 99% THC. In comparison, marijuana in the Woodstock era contained 5% THC. Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM) will take participants through the latest facts and figures on what is really happening in legalized states and the overall goal of the legalization movement.

Learning Objectives
  • What impacts have other states seen
  • What have other states done to minimize the negative consequences of the use of marijuana as it becomes more normalized in society?
  • Identify the potential impacts of high-potency THC products on adolescent brain development, mental health, and risk behaviors

Additional Information

A certificate awarding contact hours of professional development will be issued to all participants who register, attend the entire session via Zoom and complete the evaluation form at the conclusion of the event.
