PMP® Certification Preparation Course (35 PMI Approved Contact Hours) 

This Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification Preparation Course thoroughly prepares students for the 6th edition PMI® certification exam, including both material in PMI®'s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and review of essential general management topics. The course systematically follows the path of a project through initiation, planning, execution, control and closing, encompassing the 49 processes described in the 6th edition PMBOK® Guide. Upon successful completion, a continuing education certificate for 35 contact hours (3.5 continuing education units) will be awarded.

The cost for attending includes texts, course materials, and 12-month access to an online FasTrack exam simulator. Upon successful completion, a certificate showing 35 PMI approved contact hours (3.5 continuing education units) will be awarded. 

This course has an in-person classroom structure and is not an online instruction program; however, classes do have a Zoom classroom component through which Virginia Tech campus centers throughout the state will be connected during each class session.

*IMPORTANT INFO: The PMP Certification Exam will be changing versions on December 15, 2019. The PMP Fall Prep Course (8/27/19-11/12/19) will be preparation for the new version of the exam and will use all new, official updated materials. Be prepared to take the PMP Certification Exam after December 15, 2019.

Learner Outcomes

The emphasis of the course is to thoroughly prepare students for the 6th edition PMI® certification exam, including both material in PMI®’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and review of essential general management topics. The course is complete with explanations, examples and references to provide insight into numerous tangential topics.

Schedule: Class begins promptly at 5:30 pm each Tuesday and concludes at 9:00 pm. Meals will be on your own. Refreshments will be provided. All course materials will be provided.

Dates: 8/27, 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: Refund requests must be received 14 calendar days prior to the program start date. A $100 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds. Requests should be sent by email or by initiating a drop request through the student portal in our online registration system. Please note: refunds will not be issued for no-shows or for cancellations received on or after the program start date.

In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
