PMP® Certification Preparation Course (35 PMI Approved Contact Hours) 

This Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification Preparation Course thoroughly prepares students for the 6th edition PMI® certification exam, including both material in PMI®'s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and review of essential general management topics. The course systematically follows the path of a project through initiation, planning, execution, control and closing, encompassing the 49 processes described in the 6th edition PMBOK® Guide. Upon successful completion, a continuing education certificate for 35 contact hours (3.5 continuing education units) will be awarded.

The cost for attending includes texts, course materials, and 12-month access to an online FasTrack exam simulator. Upon successful completion, a certificate showing 35 PMI approved contact hours (3.5 continuing education units) will be awarded. 

This course has an in-person classroom structure and is not an online instruction program; however, classes do have a Zoom classroom component through which Virginia Tech campus centers throughout the state will be connected during each class session.

Location Information

The emphasis of the course is to thoroughly prepare students for the 6th edition PMI® certification exam, including both material in PMI®’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and review of essential general management topics. The course is complete with explanations, examples and references to provide insight into numerous tangential topics.
