With the prevalence of information technology and an ever-increasing amount of data, one of the most significant challenges that today’s meeting and event professionals face is data security and privacy. Just as the amount of data has increased, so has the responsibly to keep this data safe. If you do everything right and you still get hacked, what is your liability? What type of insurance is needed and, most importantly, how well prepared are you to perform damage control in the event of a data breach?

Keeping your attendees, clients, and staff safe and secure in the virtual world is paramount. Cybersecurity experts will focus on what the event professional needs to know regarding what can happen, whose responsibility it is, and how to mitigate risk and exposure.

Learner Outcomes

Benefits of attending:
  • Understand areas of concern in cybersecurity for your event, how breaches happen, and how you can support your tech team to prevent them
  • Become aware of privacy concerns, laws, and the event professional’s responsibility
  • Understand liability for the planner, the client, and the venue
  • Analyze existing cases of cyber breaches to determine how to support the implementation of lessons learned in your own organization
