This two-hour long interactive online Zoom workshop explores the economic, business, and social implications of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. We will start with a brief description of the blockchain. Our focus here is to understand how blockchains work at a practical level. We will study cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and BitShares, and how they enable one to store and transfer value digitally. Lastly, we will explore the potential for blockchain to improve business and government operations, focusing on applications such as finance, supply chain management, social media, voting mechanisms, and digital identity. The webinar will focus on practical applications, and attendees will learn in which conditions a blockchain is most likely to benefit their organization
