Overview

The Office of Child and Family Services at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services has partnered with subject matter experts to provide technical assistance for school-based mental health programming, service provision, and direct services.

August Series: The purpose of this two-part workshop is to provide k-12 teachers, staff, and behavioral health clinicians with strategies for engaging in culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches for de-stigmatizing help seeking behaviors, building rapport, and collaborating with BIPOC families. Each 90-minute session will train participants to identify and utilize culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches to examining how influences of race and socioeconomic status adversely influence the mental health of BIPOC students. Participants will practice their integration of training content into their professional practices during each session.
