Overview




This conference builds on our October 2023 symposium, bringing together leaders within long-term care facilities across Southwest Virginia to discuss practical, evidence-based infection prevention and control (IPC) approaches. Participants will engage with experts in this area, learn fun and practical strategies to support IPC in their facilities, and build connections that support patient health and safety in our shared communities. We will also discuss highlights and successes achieved under the Carilion Virginia Long-Term Care Infrastructure Pilot Project (VLIPP).  The conference is hosted by Carilion Clinic with funding from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) via the VLIPP grant. Conference registration is free of charge to participants.

Parking at Hotel Roanoke will be reimbursed. In addition, participants traveling 15 miles or more round trip as measured from your assigned place of work are eligible for mileage reimbursement. (Note: you will be contacted to complete a W-9 form for a mileage reimbursement)

Please note: Due to the funding source for the VLIPP grant, we are unable to reimburse travel expenses for government employees.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: Refund requests must be received 14 calendar days prior to the program start date. A $0 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds. Requests should be sent by email or by initiating a drop request through the student portal in our online registration system. Please note: refunds will not be issued for no-shows or for cancellations received on or after the program start date. In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
