The Mission of Virginia’s Year of the Peer initiative is to celebrate champions of recovery, unify Peer Recovery Specialists, and build bridges of understanding with clinical colleagues, community partners, and organizations across Virginia. We envision Virginia as an integrated recovery-oriented system of care where Peer Specialists are valued for being champions, building connection, and offering support to individuals with mental health and substance use challenges.

The Office of Recovery Services will cover lodging expenses for a limited number of individuals that are 75+ miles from the conference hotel location (110 Shenandoah Ave NW Roanoke, VA 24016), one way. Please note that there are a limited number of slots and not everyone eligible for this opportunity will be chosen. Individuals that meet the lodging eligibility criteria will need to submit their registration before June 15th. After that date, all conference attendees will be responsible for their own lodging costs.
Please note that EVERYONE will need to register at the $50 registration fee. If attendees cancel registrations after July 15th, your payment method will be charged a $30 cancellation fee.
A link for individuals to make a lodging reservation at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center will be provided in your registration confirmation email. I acknowledge that the Office of Recovery Services is pleased to offer limited scholarships to cover lodging costs for conference participants whose job sites are over 75 miles away from the conference location one way. Please note that there are a limited number of slots and not everyone eligible for this scholarship opportunity will be chosen. Conference participants that meet the lodging eligibility criteria will need to register for the conference and reserve a lodging room before June 15th. After that date, all conference attendees will be responsible for their own lodging costs. You will be notified by July 1st if you were selected for a scholarship.
