The mission of the Summer Institute for School Nursing is to foster evidence-based practice in the school setting and promote competency in school nursing practice. The conference is appropriate for school nurses, school nurse coordinators, and supervisors of health services.

Lodging: Enrolled participants need to make their own lodging reservation by June 28 on a first-come, first-served basis with the Hotel Roanoke. A limited number of VDOE grant-funded rooms are available until the block capacity has been reached for attendees that 1) live more than 50 miles (one-way) from the hotel and 2) share a room with another conference attendee. 

Participants will need to book a room in the Summer Institute of School Nursing room block and secure their room using a credit card. In double occupancy rooms, one participant will need to secure the room and provide the names of everyone sharing the room during the registration process.

If the room is not needed and not canceled the credit card will be charged. Lodging is limited so we encourage all participants to register and secure their lodging asap.

CEU Credit: In order to receive CEU credits participants will need to sign in at the beginning and sign out at the end of each conference day.

Program Schedule: Wednesday, July 26 12:00 pm lunch to Friday, July 28, 1:30 pm lunch 

Cancellation Policy: Another person may be substituted at any time. If the substitute attendee requires lodging they will need to stay in the original booked room Please contact us at 540-231-5182 or e-mail cpeinfo@vt.edu to request a substitution. In the unlikely event that this program is canceled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
