The Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) Office of Special Education Instructional Services, in partnership with the Office of Humanities, will sponsor a collaborative special education-world language education conference on “ Meeting the Needs of Students with Disabilities and Diverse Learners in the World Language Classroom.” The conference will take place on July 19, 2019, at the Westin Richmond in Richmond, VA and is designed to address instructional strategies and service model considerations for students with disabilities in the world language classroom.

The conference will only be available to school division personnel. World Language coordinators, Special Education coordinators, classroom teachers, and resource or lead personnel in these specialty areas are the primary target audience. The VDOE is seeking between one to four individuals per school division. The conference can accommodate 150 individuals
