The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the annual technical assistance academy for federal program coordinators and other key instructional staff supporting programs under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). The Academy will offer technical assistance on federal programs topics such as federal program monitoring, fiscal management, allowability, etc. 

The academy will be held at two regional locations. Attendance according to the regional location of the school division is strongly encouraged.

Lodging: Lodging will be funded for those participants traveling 50 miles or more one way as measured from your assigned place of work. Lodging reservations will be made for you if requested during registration and a separate informational/lodging confirmation email will be emailed one week prior to the academy.

If you did not request lodging during registration, no reservations will be made for you. You may not make reservations directly with the hotel unless you will be paying individually; the conference will not reimburse any reservations made outside of the conference registration.

All attendees will be asked for a credit card at the time of check in to cover the cost of incidentals. Any incidental charges will be the responsibility of the attendee. Putting a debit card down for incidentals is not recommended.

Cancellation Policy: Another person may be substituted at any time for this program. If you are unable to attend please contact an enrollment coordinator at cpeinfo@vt.edu to cancel your room reservation and conference registration. The Department of Education will not be responsible for “no show” lodging charges, and failure to advise of your cancellation by one week prior to the academy may result in lodging charges to the attendee.
