Overview

The Virginia Tech AI and Machine Learning Bootcamp is designed for students to pursue high-quality tech education while continuing to balance work or other commitments.

After 168 hours of synchronous instruction, participants will learn:

  • Front-End Foundations: Applied the tenets of programming from the basic through advanced, including HTML and CSS; and advanced JavaScript programming, including closure, prototypical inheritance, and recursion
  • Front-End Development: Applied the foundations of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Git and GitHub to web interface and design, and front-end framework
  • Development Libraries and Back-End Development: Applied skills in JavaScript and JavaScript APIs (Application Programming Interfaces); React, React Router, and React Hooks; and Redux, to concepts such as Test-Driven Development and Prototyping
  • Full Stack Development: Integrated SQL relational databases into applications for data organization and storage using JavaScript and SQL

The learners can gain the ability to:

  • Apply HTML, CSS, and JavaScript concepts to coding projects
  • Write and optimize front-end code
  • Use APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to power web applications.
  • Utilize TDD (Test-Driven Development) to test new code before writing it
  • Scope, research, and build full stack web applications
  • Utilize SQL relational databases in applications for data organization and storage
