Overview

This training will explore practical methods to help non-English readers accelerate their English literacy. The basis of this training is current research surrounding educational growth mindset and the practical experience of Carol Salva, a master teacher who achieved success with Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE) in a Houston high school. This training will demonstrate user-friendly techniques that close achievement gaps for SLIFE.

Attendees should include: EL teachers, EL coaches, EL specialists.

This is a virtual session. All participants will require a laptop and a Zoom account. For those who already have Zoom installed, please make sure to update to the latest version - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

All necessary literature, materials, and instructions to access the virtual session (links) will be sent to attendees one week prior to the training.
