Overview

The Department of Education, Office of ESEA Programs is pleased to offer a two-day Title III Statewide Consortium Conference, “Effective Collaborative Instruction for English Learners Success.”

The conference, funded under Title III, Part A, Language Instruction for English Learners and Immigrant Students, will kick off with a full-day professional development session led by renowned English learner author and consultant Andrea Honigsfeld.  Day two will include both LEA and VDOE presentations.   All sessions will focus on assisting school divisions with low incidence English learner populations to meet the unique needs of these students with particular emphasis on intentional collaboration for the instruction of English Learners.

We recommend that a team of two or three represent every Consortium Division and that one member be either a lead teacher or instructional specialist working with ELs who would be able to disseminate information from the conference.  It is expected that attendees provide ‘turn around training’ within their respective school division.

The Office of Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Tech will manage registration, lodging, and provide confirmation. Questions regarding registration should be directed to the Office of Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Tech at cpeinfo@vt.edu or (540) 231-5182. A school division email is required to register.

Program coordinators and other key instructional staff in Virginia’s 2022-2023 Statewide Title III Consortium will be eligible to participate.

Registration cutoff date: October 27, 2022

****REGISTRATION REQUIRES ATTENDANCE. Failure to advise the registrar in advance may result in lodging charges to the attendee.****
