Overview

Asset Management Implementation Plan is the third course in a series of three courses that constitute Virginia Tech's Essentials of Asset Management Certificate. This self-paced course includes description of water infrastructure asset management based on the Sustainable Infrastructure Management Learning Environment (SIMPLE) 5-core question, 10-step process. It includes approaches to perform risk analysis, gap analysis for baseline, establish future scenarios, and comprehensive asset management planning. This course also presents real world examples to develop an asset management plan (AMP) that guides risk-based decision-making.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to understand:

• The concept of Business Risk Exposure (BRE) and the various existing techniques to calculate BRE and understand how to relate Business Risk Exposure (BRE) to management actions
• The role and importance of an asset registry and will develop an understanding of techniques for condition
